A lot of people ask me where I find my inspiration. Safe to say, a lot of inspiration comes from looking at other patterns. Or, just look up when you walk in the streets, in architecture you can see the best rhythms, which can lead up to a new design. Still want to do something with this picture I shot in New York.
For the first collection of AnnaGee the inspiration came from everywhere. Besides my love for dots and stripes (don’t ask me how many striped clothes I own 😉 ), I was also inspired by the artworks of De Stijl. De Stijl is a Dutch art group from the last century. It was a movement in the arts, named after a Dutch Magazine, De stijl (Style). Lucky for me, in The Hague is a museum called the Gemeentemuseum, where you can find a lot of paintings and drawings from members of De Stijl.

Famous members of De Stijl were Piet Mondriaan, Theo van Doesburg and Bart van der Leck. If you look at these pictures, it’s obvious where my inspiration came from right?
